Adult Jazz Funk:

This class is a beginner jazz funk class for adults ages 18 and up! Adults wear comfortable, athletic wear to move around and get funky in this class! Sneakers that have a smooth bottom and do not stick to the floor are the best shoes for this class. We recommend the Bloch “Element” because it has the bottom of a jazz shoe on a supportive sneaker! Please do not wear your jazz funk shoes outside. This damages the shoes and may subsequently damage the dance floors.

Ballet:

CDE enforces a strict dress code for ballet.  Students that do not adhere to the dress code will observe class.  Ballet students should wear ballet pink tights and any style black dance leotard. Shorts, black tights, leg warmers, jazz pants, or cover ups of any kind are not permitted since the instructors will need to clearly see the body alignment of the student. Please, no jewelry or dangly earrings.  Hair must be pulled back in a ballet bun, as for all hair should be kept out of the face. The required ballet shoes are the Pink Canvas Hanami by Capezio. Students can be sized for these ballet shoes in our CDE apparel store for purchase. The student’s name should be written in each shoe. Please do not wear shoes outside. This damages the shoes and may subsequently damage the dance floors.

Children in these classes generally wear a pink leotard and pink tights. If skirts are worn, teachers recommend that they be attached to the leotard to lessen class disruption. Hair should be in a bun, ponytail, or otherwise pulled back. Please, no jewelry or dangly earrings. The required ballet shoes are the pink canvas Hanami by Capezio, and the required tap shoes are the Mary-Jane by Capezio in the caramel color. Students can be sized for these shoes in our CDE apparel store for purchase.
